A walk around Chestnut Meadows is never quite the same twice. The farm changes with the seasons, the weather, and whatever wildlife happens to be passing through that day.
The white barn sits just beyond the house, with the garden and grapevines nearby. Tall pines separate the front of the property from the open fields beyond, and a couple of paths lead out toward the meadow and woods.
Some days the farm feels busy with birds, rabbits, squirrels, and deer moving through. Other days it is quiet enough to notice the wind in the pines, leaves shifting along the path, or something blooming that wasn’t there the week before.
Libby is usually part of the tour. She keeps an eye on the fields, checks the paths, and takes her farm patrol duties very seriously.
As the year moves along, different parts of Chestnut Meadows take their turn in the spotlight — new growth in spring, full green fields in summer, changing leaves and harvest season in fall, and the quieter months when we begin planning for what comes next.
This Farm & Garden journal is a place to share those everyday moments along with the growing projects, wildlife, seasonal changes, and little discoveries that make life at Chestnut Meadows what it is.
